Enhance your document search capabilities beyond standard field based queries
with SmartSearch Content Search. Content Search provides a deeper level
of business intelligence by looking within the documents in your database
for keywords or phrases and presents a list of matching records. Each record
found is further weighed for relevance by the number of Hits located.
Users can create simple word searches or more complex queries
using tools for Boolean, phrase based, and proximity searching.
SmartSearch Content Search supports advanced data mining tools including
wild card
and fuzzy based searching with the ability to combine the use
of several features within a single search.
• Phrase searching finds phrases like: due process of law.
• Boolean operators like and/or/not can join words and phrases:
due process of law and not (equal protection or civil rights).
• Proximity searching finds a word or phrase within "n" words
of another word or phrase: apple pie w/38 peach cobbler.
• Numeric range searching finds any number between two numbers,
such as between 6 and 36.
• Wildcard support allows ? to hold a single letter place,
and * to hold multiple letter places: apple* and not appl?sauce.
Leveraging the Strength of SmartSearch Content Search
To perform a content based search, simply select a pre-defined
keyword search and enter a word, combination of words or phrase you wish
to locate within the document.

Viewing the Results
Your search results are then available with an indication
of the occurances clearly visible within the results screen.
The
document results are weighted based on the number of Hits
returned in each document, but can easily be sorted in ascending
or descending
order by clicking on the header of any data column.

Hit Highlighting
Once a record is opened, the key word or phrase is highlighted
for easy identification. Users can jump from one Hit to
the next by clicking on the “Hits” button within the viewer
toolbar
and selecting “Next Hit”. As a shortcut, users can also
press the F3 key to tab between Hits. This tool is especially
helpful
when navigating between hits that appear several or even
hundreds of pages apart.

information includes, but is not
